Staff Shortage- AICTE/NBA in a coma?

Insufficient staff in all government engineering colleges

Private engineering colleges are warned and action taken against them by AICTE for not having the required number of staff in the college as per the prescribed norms. But why such penal action is not taken against Anna University or Government Engineering colleges? Rare exception was the NO ADMISSION ordered by AICTE in 1999 against a government engineering college. The oldest government engineering college is yet to recruit a single teacher for its one of its departments offering both UG & PG, though it was started many years back. In another government engineering college the sanctioned number of posts was only 3 in the branch being offered by that college!! In each government engineering college such serious shortage in staff exists. How is that various inspection teams from AICTE/ University/government do not point out such deficiencies? If pointed out by inspecting committees, how these colleges continue to function? None of the government engineering colleges have been derecognised by AICTE (except in the one instance mentioned at the beginning) and even rewarded with accreditation by NBA in some cases. Showing staff of one department as belonging to another or counting hourly basis lecturers as staff are merely deceptions practiced by the heads of government engineering institutions and winked at by AICTE. If only AICTE and NBA did their job, such deficiencies would have been rectified long back. Now it is being perpetuated instead.

I am yet to locate the url of Anna univeristy where they give AICTE Compliance report and AICTE mandatory disclosure report. when i locate them I will have more to blog
